Thank goodness it’s still summer break, or Justin Bieber‘s visit to a Florida high school Thursday would have been a lot harder to manage.

Bieber stopped by Seminole High School in Orlando, Fla., to surprise summer band camp students there with an appearance and a $5,000 check. The money, which will go to the school’s music education program, came from Best Buy and the Grammy Foundation.

The pop star, who picked up a guitar as well as drumsticks during the visit, let fans check out his tour bus, and said in a statement that he talked to them ‘about pursuing their passion in music and encouraging them to keep doing what they’re doing.’

Interestingly enough, what some of his fans are doing, apparently, is freaking out and sending Facebook and Twitter death threats to Seminole High School student Megan Burrier, a.k.a. @meganburrier, the girl who got a surprise seat upgrade, initiated by a direct message from @justinbieber, at his concert Wednesday night. The ‘Scooter’ she refers to in her story at the previous link is Scott Braun, the Biebs’ manager, who’s known for leveraging Twitter.

The Ministry slogged through 21 hours of messages at or about Megan, only to get cut off from older tweets before seeing an actual ‘death threat.’ That said, most of the bajillion tweets aimed at her were supportive, even if some folks’ investigative reporting skills were a bit, um, suspect. As of Friday morning, she had more than 8,000 new Twitter followers, and had earned the dubious honor of someone impersonating her on Facebook.

Take heart, however, Megan -- as @LisaJieber said to you on Twitter: ‘Hey never mind. Seriously. They wont kill you ;) Kim Kardashians still alive too :D Just dont let em get you down :)’

One tweet from @justinbieber late Wednesday alerted legions of Beliebers to @megancurrier’s existence -- and we certainly hope the Thursday picture of the Biebs with his arm around band camp student Juliana Rodriguez doesn’t cause a similar outbreak of irrational tween-threat stupidity. Technically, kids, what they’re doing in the picture at left is not ‘dating.’
