Ever wonder how Jane Lynch‘s Sue Sylvester turned out so, um, special? Turns out Sue may have been raised by none other than Carol Burnett, who reportedly will show up on “Glee” as the cheer coach’s Nazi-hunting mom, according to an EW source.

E! Online sources say there’s no ink on the deal but that Burnett is indeed talking to “Glee” producers. This after Burnett revealed in May that she’d be interested in an appearance on the show, if she were asked. “I’d do whatever they wanted me to,” she told Zap2It, “but I’d like to have a few scenes with Jane Lynch. I love her.”

The episode would air in October or November, EW says.

And we thought casting Idina Menzel as mom to Lea Michele‘s Rachel Berry was something else, right? Make sure to tell us which combo you prefer, in our nonscientific online poll, after the break.
