Reports: Tiger Woods' divorce settlement won't hit $750M

Tiger Woods' divorce couldn't cost him $750 million, because he doesn't have that much money, Forbes' SportsMoney column argued Thursday, countering a Wednesday report in London's Sun that came courtesy of an unnamed source allegedly on Elin Nordegren's side of things.

Forbes says that by its math, the golfer's net worth is $600 million. 

TMZ, citing sources close to Tiger and alleging that the divorce is a done deal except for the filing, concurs that the $750-million rumor is way too high. One TMZ source does say Elin is likely to take away more than she agreed to in their prenup.

Reporters from the Sun-Sentinel, meanwhile, have their eyes on the courthouse in Orange County, Fla. -- not Orlando County, as the Sun's report professed -- waiting to see if this rumored divorce filing actually takes place.

I believe that Tiger Woods is worth more than $600 millions. The amount that Forbes is reporting may be the amount that Tiger reports to the IRS and pays taxes on. I have read about cases of wealthy millionaires who keep part of their money in foreign banks/countries in order to evade taxes. Regardless, I still believe that Elin will get $750 millions because the parties in a divorce could agreed that the settlement be paid over a certain period of time !!!
This divorce settlement amount is well deserved since it may be for a complete package for both, Elin and the children and Tiger is demanding from Elin a lifetime of silence. It is very wise of Elin to demand that Tiger never expose their children to any future female companions ''unless he is married to said person.'' I commend Elin for being a caring and loving mother and for having her priorities right. Tiger is the one who caused irreparable damage to the marriage and the dissolution of the family unit with his adulterous, reckless and irresponsible behavior. Tiger, reportedly, had unprotected sex with multiple promiscuous partners, potentially exposing Elin to life threatening conditions such as STD, HIV, hepatitis, herpes, uterine cancer, etc. Some of these conditions can be dormant and could take years to show up. Tiger Woods humiliated his family in front of the world causing them enough hurt, pain and suffering that will scar them for the rest of their lives! Tiger Woods used his wife and children to earn millions projecting a false image of integrity as a devoted husband and family man, while living a sordid life in private. I applaud Elin for her courage, dignity and poise during this horrid ordeal and wish her and her precious children all the best for the future!!!

Regardless what the settlement is Tiger is AGREEING to it. Throughout his career he’s had the best – sports agent, business partners, & lawyers. It doesn’t matter what their advice it’s HIS decision. If he wanted to fight it would be on. People can have their opinions about whether it’s fair or not, Elin’s a gold digger, she was just a nanny, etc. Throughout his marriage I never got the impression she was a gold digger or media ho. She has ALWAYS been private & this was obviously exactly what Tiger wanted. Her primary interest is what’s in the best interest of the children & I believe it’s his too. Tiger admitted that his exalted position – golfing god & ridiculously rich made him think he could do what he did & get away with it & he hid it from his wife because obviously he realized what he was doing wasn’t right. Undoubtedly he loves his children but they will grow up learning their parents loved each other but at some point things happened & some bad choices were made. Tiger created a PERSONA of a family man & made millions from this. Currently the idea of a family man includes monogamy. These children will make their own judgments about their parent’s behavior & whether it’s acceptable & how it will affect them. Presently we live in a world where vows & monogamy still mean something & Tiger & Elin made these vows to each other. Maybe in the future marriage vows shouldn’t include a commitment to fidelity & then we can all live happily ever after whatever the consequences (good or bad) may bring. Heck. I want a marriage with my wife where I can have mistresses but SHE can’t cheat on me. That wouldn’t be acceptable because it would hurt me & my children & she might bring diseases to our bed.

This divorce is the exception rather than the rule for us mere mortals. I believe Elin will always be judged about what she does with her settlement but she will do something productive with her life. If each of us could put ourselves in Tiger & Elin’s position for a moment we might see their perspective. But in the end there are no winners. It’s a sad story for everyone.

What remains to be seen is whether Tiger gets his game back. Maybe for Tiger it does take a voracious sex drive & meeting this need to be the number one player in golf for the foreseeable future. Go for it, Tiger. Any & all women who enter Tiger’s orbit will be questioned & judged for their motive. Ho, gold digger, whatever. We do live in a society where sex between people can be a monetary proposition. If Tiger is ok with this premise who are we to judge? But. Tiger, DUDE! Protect yourself! STDS! AIDS! CHILDREN! Just because you are the golfing god of this young century doesn’t mean you’re exempt.

i never ever blog about anything. but dude...750 million. Damn! thats not a settlement. Thats a Bailout. I cant even formulate my opinion because I cant get my brain around that number. I like to keep things practical and I get a kick out of doing the math when I see stuff like this. SO if this 'woman' gets this much money...and lived for another 100 years, thats about 20,000 a day. for a 100 years. C'MON!!!!

Tiger should be paying more than $500 Million. He will be on top in just a few years, but his family will live with this for the rest of their lives. Tiger needs to step up to the plate, since he's been such a big man in the past!

Carrick Wilmot please tell me how the nanny helped make Tiger the golf/media sensation he is? He has been golfing since he could walk; was famous even before he got to Stanford and was a wealthy golf superstar long, long before he met the nanny. And she contributed to this how?

I agree with those who say pretty good income for a nanny. Before she met him she worked for one of his neighbors in Isleworth. She smiled, and went with him to matches, she wasn't responsible for his golf success. Come on, he made so much his money long before she came on the scene. If he was playing with all those women, there is no way as his wife she didn't know. When someone is cheating you feel it. She just waited until the time to burst out in victim mode. We have no idea of what her mindset was going in, remember she saw his life out of the cameras. She knew about the women, groupies, whatever. Either way, nice pay day for someone who just came here to watch someone's children. He'll be an active part of his children's lives, so it's best the two parents go their separate ways, and live a peaceful life. All the best.
