A fourth alleged Mel Gibson tape goes public -- sex, therapy and why a maid is better

A fourth tape alleged to be Mel Gibson ranting over the phone at ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva was made public Wednesday -- is anyone surprised? -- by Radar Online, and this one has us really, really wishing there were time and date stamps attached to the recordings to provide better context to the unbridled rage and recurring topics.

This tape -- let's call it "the one where the guy mentions burning down the house" -- takes us back to the couple's plan to go out to the Jacuzzi, and expands on the blowup over a sex act that didn't happen because she fell asleep and he decided not to wake her up. (The Times has not independently verified the authenticity of the tapes, but no one connected to Gibson has called them into question.)

The Jacuzzi fight was mentioned in the second tape, made public Monday. Her calling him "mean" comes up in tape No. 4 as well; it was also mentioned in tape No. 2. There's a reference in the newest tape to Mel wanting the help of a maid -- possibly the employee he threatened to fire or report in the third tape, made public Tuesday. All of this mentioning occurs, of course, amid an anger-fueled blizzard of profanity. If you're a tough-minded adult who's OK with unbridled cussing, you can listen to the fourth tape here.

Apparently Grigorieva had requested his therapist's phone number -- a request not warmly received. "Don't you ever speak to him. Find your own ... therapist. 'Cause you got problems more than me, and you had to ... push my buttons, and it's not going to work with us, it's not.

"I can't get like this anymore," he says, "and you know you're doing it, and you're a liar, and you're dishonest ... so you stay ... away from me. Take care of your ... son, and I'd better have my daughter."

One possible solution to the relationship mess?

"I just want my daughter and a maid," he says. "It's a lot less ... trouble. They clean up after themselves, they make your ... bed -- which you did not -- you don't have to worry about emotional blackmail or any of the other ... that you put me through. I just need a nice woman to look after my beautiful daughter and I don't have to ... her or anything."

One thing we agree with, no matter the context? The part where he says, "I can't get like this anymore."

Mel Gibson's brain is pickled from alcohol and his mouth reminds me of the BP oil spill. Once it starts spewing you can't shut it off. I wouldn't be surprised if this woman has tapes she could release every day for the next couple of months. He's an abuser and deserves what he has created for himself and should be legally punished.

It sounds like Mel is either drunk, on drugs or has manic episodes or a combination of them;he could definetely benefit from in-patient psychiatric treatment and perhaps become a spokesman for the treatment of mental illness-I wish him a full recovery.

Keep in mind there are a ton of women out there that will stop at nothing to get money. I disagree with Mel using the N-word and abusing her physically if that indeed is true. There does seem to be some inconsistencies in regards to what Oksansa has said. Just keep in mind people there are two sides to every story and there is no telling what is really going on, don't be so quick to judge.

The last comment, "I can't get like this anymore," is interesting because it shows that he understands his behavior is wrong but can't help himself, possibly when provoked. A timeline on these audio tapes would definitely help.

One thing's for certain, Radar is getting a lot of publicity out of this.

She is an extortionist and a dirty player because he is an alcoholic and a mean one, and she waits for him to be drunk and ticked off, then tapes him. That is really dirty pool and she is a pro at it. She is aiming to extort as much as she can from him. He needs to learn his lesson and walk away from gold diggers, period. Get help for his addictions and move on. Most of us have a dark side and have said things that we really regret, things that we would never say sober and sane. Most of us would not try to extort money from someone like this woman is doing. It is creepy and to me, worse than the insanity that he spews out, insanity that comes from too much anger and too much booze.

It's amazing how many women are determined to write comments in support of this monster. Perhaps they believe that accepting abuse is part of what is expected of a woman. As for the tapes being about leverage to get money, this has not been established. The tapes could well be leverage to keep Mel Gibson away from his daughter as the custody phase of this split is adjudicated. Ms. Grigorieva has every reason to believe that Mr. Gibson is capable of murdering both her and her daughter. Assuming the tapes are legitimate, he clearly threatened to kill her, and to burn down the house, and to take a bat to her head, etc. He's already smashed her face in.

Oh please, anybody who is still standing up for Mel after all these tapes have been made public is blind blind blind to who he really is. He's a perpetrator of domestic abuse and domestic violence. Nothing more, nothing less. He's also an alcoholic - very common in domestic abuse situations. I wish more 'wives' would have the skill and guts to collect evidence against their abusers like Oksana has done. I bet if anybody managed to interview Robyn, she'd tell the same story about Mel. I love(d) him as an ACTOR in his past movies, but as a husband/lover he is the WORST KIND. Just despicable behaviour. His therapist should be fired along with his priest as neither of them have helped him - he needs to go into rehab first and foremost.
