Levi Johnston apologizes to Sarah Palin for 'not completely true' statements [poll]
Levi Johnston, who famously insinuated awhile back that Sarah Palin and her husband, Todd, were on the verge of divorce, has told People exclusively that, shoot, he might've been a little bit angry at the time over his breakup with Bristol Palin and might've engaged in a little bit of, you know, fibbing and stuff.
Which means that all or part of what he said in October 2009 in a clip from "The Early Show," above, may or may not be true.
So, maybe it's not technically "lying" if you're just saying things that are just "not completely true"? That's what Johnston says he was doing. Because he was upset about breaking up with Bristol. Which happened in March 2009.
Must've been a hard breakup to get over, because in an October 2009 interview with "Entertainment Tonight," Johnston was asked if he thought the Palin relationship was headed for divorce -- rumors that a Palin representative denied at the time.
"I'm sure it is. Just like she decided she was going to quit [being the] governor [of Alaska], just was waiting for the right time, they're gonna wait it out. They're gonna be smart, they're do it when the time is right."
That coming after a September 2009 interview with Vanity Fair in which he'd trashed ...
"[A]gainst my better judgment," Johnston said in the Tuesday statement to People, "I publicly said things about the Palins that were not completely true."
He said also he'd privately apologized, but decided to take it public because he'd spoken publicly in the first place.
Bristol Palin answered with a statement that she and her ex, who together have a child, Tripp, are "turning a new page."
Good luck with that.

Why is this news? Everybody knows that he and Bristol are shacking up-so much for her run as Miss Abstinence!

How interesting it is that an obviously immature young man who lied for "payback" has developed the charactor and insight to admit his deceptions and apologize. Kudos to you, Levi. If only Sarah Palin could put aside her ego and learn from this example... and she was a Governor!

Well, whatever the motivation, hopefully Levi will learn from this and move on. He needs to set an adult example for his son. Won't he have fun explaining last year's behavior when Tripp is old enough and starts making his own mistakes.

The continuing saga of the Wasilla Hillbillies.
They need a theme song.

Is he lying now or did he lie then. I'm putting my money on him lying now. I have no doubt that he regrets telling the family secrets but they rang true. How do you make up a story of her leaving the office at noon and plopping herself on the couch to watch HGTV shows while the kids fend for themselves. Levi seems like a simple guy and generally honest he always sounded reluctant to expose the real Palin on the interviews I saw. This apology is creepy and make Sarah look even more like the mafia don that people in Alaska fear.

How interesting that some people still find a way to make this reflect badly on Sarah. If only they could put aside the ego and learn from her vindication. You could say it's 'immature' to continue to blast Palin for...Levi coming clean on her side (however that reflects badly on her.) Good for him, it's sad what he and Bristol went through. Some of you need to grow up.

I think Sarah Palin needs to apologize to America for trying to parlay a fourth-rate beauty pageant career into a political career. Sorry, hunny, but you can't shag your way to the highest office in American Government like you can a sash and tiara.

Your poll is missing a choice: "How much was he paid?"

My only opinion options are "well isn't that nice" or "too little, to late"? How about I don't give a flying fig?

The problem was with the reporters who did not do any research and passed the lie on.

Why is Levi now threatening his sister mercede to shut down her blog or she will never see him or Tripp again?
Seems to me the Palins have silenced one teenager, and now will move on to his sister.
Masterful work here by the way. By getting Levi to admit publicly that he lied, they have destroyed his credibility forever.
I for one don't believe this latest statement. Its like believing Bristol Palin's plea to stay a virgin until you are married, while she shacks up in Anchorage with the very same Levi.
Wasilla Hillbillies. Thanks McCain you idiot.

Some day a sociologist is going to study the venomous, pervasive anti-Palin rhetoric of liberals in the same way that Orson Wells "War of the Worlds" broadcast became fodder for the question, "Why did so many people act so irrationally?"
The mass delusion reflected in unflappable convictions about Palin's amorality and dim-wittedness is unprecedented to me--and I remember the McCarthy witch hunts.
Even more remarkable is the left's inability to even consider that it is the victim of being under the dominion of the reptilian brain.

Wonder how much hush money that took from the Palinistas.

@Eric Jacobson -- "I think Sarah Palin needs to apologize to America for trying to parlay a fourth-rate beauty pageant career into a political career."
The idiots who backed Barack Obama need to apologize to America for helping him parlay a fourth-rate career as a community organizer into a disasterous presidency!

Amazing what happens when you are slapped with a $1700+ a month child support bill.
Now Levi is back together with Bristol and so Sarah decided to make Levi sing for his supper and give this obviously scripted apology. It was most likely written by Sarah herself.
I feel sorry for Levi and Bristol, as their relationship can only be good with Sarah's permission.

Who cares, Palin is an idiot. She's pretty much Alaska's shame at this point. I should know-- I live in Juneau, AK.
