Gwyneth Paltrow tells Vogue new cookbook salutes her father
In the August issue of Vogue, the annual Age issue, Paltrow talks about the mechanics of being a star and mother in her 30s, and discusses a new passion project -- a cookbook, "My Father's Daughter," that celebrates the spirit of Bruce.
Writer Jeffrey Steingarten spent a few days with the actress over several months, cooking her favorite recipes and getting a closer look at her work and family life.
A dedicated chef, Steingarten notes that Paltrow makes her own vegetable stock, owns two different pizza ovens in her London and Long Island homes and isn't as health and detox-regimented as her fit figure might suggest.
"This book is meant to channel the ethos of my father by sharing the greatest gifts that he imparted to me," Paltrow writes in the introduction to the cookbook (due on shelves in May 2011).
"Invest in what's real. Clean as you go. Drink while you cook. Make it fun. It doesn't have to be complicated. It will be what it will be."
