Charlie Sheen’s hearing scheduled for Monday in a Colorado court has been delayed to Aug. 2 at the request of Sheen’s attorney, according to a statement Friday from the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Department.

The delay is intended ‘to allow both parties to pursue a possible plea disposition,’ the statement said.

Sheen’s tentative plea deal was knocked off the rails once before, on June 7, when issues gumming up the works reportedly included access to cigarettes -- and whether Sheen qualified for a certain type of work release that would let him out of jail for 12 hours each day.

Sheen is, of course, facing domestic-abuse charges in connection with a Dec. 25 incident involving his wife, Brooke Mueller.

See y’all in August, then.
