At the 'Salt' premiere, a dash of Angelina Jolie and friends [video]
Angelina Jolie is notoriously press shy — she grants only a limited number of interviews when promoting her films. Even at the premiere of her movie "Salt" in Hollywood on Monday evening, the action star granted group interviews to a only few news outlets.
"Are there any decent ones?" she asked a publicist, surveying the media before walking the carpet.
But when Jolie did grace us with her limited presence, she proved to be charming and warm — not to mention, of course, stunningly beautiful (even with the super-HD-closeness of our Flip video camera).
She spoke fondly of her latest role, saying she hopes audiences have a "great time" when they go to see "Salt" in theaters.
"The movie is one of those that I hope is just a great ride," she said. "But I think it should surprise them, it's got enough good twists and turns. It does have a plot, a good one. It has good ...
Jolie was accompanied at the premiere by her partner, Brad Pitt. We've never quite witnessed the type of pandemonium that ensued as the glamorous couple emerged from their car, greeting fans clamoring for autographs and photographs on Hollywood Boulevard (check it out in the videos after the break). After waving to a few lucky fans, Pitt hurried down the red carpet and inside the theater as Jolie talked to the press. The couple's six kids didn't tag along, and they haven't seen the film either, the actress said.
"I can't show my kids movies where people are trying to kill me," she smiled.
Liev Schreiber, Jolie's costar, was also on hand to promote the film, which he described as a "really, really fun ride."
"It's like a roller coaster," he said. "It is amazing. I know that's kind of a cliche about movies now. But nobody rolls like our roller coaster. You'll see."
Jon Voight, Jolie's father, spoke fondly of his daughter at the premiere — "That's my girl," he said proudly, staring at her on the movie poster plastered on the wall behind him.
"You know, I have a big picture in my office that was taken on 'Tomb Raider.' And it's Angie flying on this thing. Now, there's got to be some wires and stuff like that. But she's 80 feet above this pool of water and these gears and stuff like that, and there's a big smile on her face," he said.
"It's kind of scary, but she has fun. She's like a circus performer in some ways, you know what I mean? How do they do that without being scared? I don't know. But she enjoys this stuff. She's athletic, and she enjoys expressing her athleticism in these pictures."

Compared to the majority of other actors Angelina would rather the film speak for itself. Many of her actions are described as publicity stunts to get attention yet this contradicts entirely her avoidance of the movie road show fanfest. Angelina is one of a kind and so beautiful, even moreso in real life, she's a genetic marvel.
