'Twilight' fans camp in downtown L.A. ahead of 'Eclipse' premiere [poll] [updated]
"The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" premiere isn't until Thursday night, but fans -- many of whom have been making plans and booking hotel rooms months in advance -- wasted no time lining up for a chance to spot their favorites on the red carpet.

With wristbands distributed at 6 a.m. Monday, "Twilight" fans have packed Nokia Plaza at L.A. Live with their bodies, their tents and their requisite signs professing love -- or at least their "Team Edward" or "Team Jacob" alliance. It's an orderly affair as well, with Summit Entertainment having issued detailed information directly to fans about how the camping will be run. Better to leave the out-of-control-crowd to Justin Bieber's fans, we suppose?
Fans will be relocated Wednesday to allow for premiere setup, and will be allowed in line in sequential wristband order starting at 2 p.m. Thursday.
Meanwhile, Monday found stars Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart at an "Eclipse" publicity event in Stockholm. Robert Pattinson has been off filming "Water for Elephants."
We'd credit the full moon for all the enthusiasm, but that doesn't arrive until Saturday. You know, the morning of the lunar eclipse.
Coincidence? You decide.

I honestly would wait in line and other then seeing the stars and Stephenie Meyer I would love to just hang out with other Twilight fans.

i guess none of these people have jobs.
and judging by the misspelling on the sign in the photo, my guess is they do not attend school either.

Lunar Eclipse
The moon rose high after twilight. She slayed the day with her dark sword. The great pearl illuminated the velvet sky. Her light became her grace. And men melted into song, ere her beauty. Mysteriously, a dark shadow covered her face. I knoweth not why? Lo! this thing hindered the night. I, even I, saw the dark orb. Then, I beheld the Lady of the Night. Her face was aglow. Dressed in elegant garb, she gave me her back and showed me the moon.

I was young once and never that dumb. This is the same as geeks in line for the Star Wars movies. That's what these people are...lame geeks.

Looking at the picture, it's odd how there's always a random Mexican flag, even for something like this. Is it people from Mexico saying, "I'm from Mexico and representing Mexicans in camping to be the first to see Twilight"?

LOL. Do you really think the actors are going to call on you and sweep you off to the premier?
Girls (and some guys) live in this fantasy realm their whole lives.
These vampires are metaphors for sex, and orgies... Why hide it?

what a bunch of useless group of people to wait in line to have a glimpse of another smaller group of talentless people. I hope there is a huge earthquake in LA area.

Apparently they've had enough of winners down there following the Lakers' win and have now opened up the area the complete LOSERS. It's a MOVIE, folks. How sad is it that you have so little of a life that this is worth five days of it?

A lot of people here are vindictive, full of arrogance and profess to be better than somebody else. They presumably believe that they're intellectuals by putting somebody down.Intelligent people don't spend time in gossip site nor putting people down. They're basically full of tolerance and tact. So why are you here in this gossip site slandering twilight fans? They do you no harm. If they mispell something, that doesn't give you the right to judge them. They're just enjoying their holiday away from school or work to hang out with friends to whom they can share similar thoughts about the book. This is so disappointing when judgemental people behave like this! Just put your manners back and remember what your parents taught you.

Thanks Beatrice. Anyone recall the Beatles and Beatlemania... Thank goodness there is an art form that excites the senses. From novel to screen! Hooray to those that love imagination, dreams and story-telling. Wish I were there.

GO TEAM CULLEN! if you are here for taylor L. its a waste of time, i mean who wants to see him!
Posted by: teamCullen!!! | Jun 23, 2010 at 01:43 AM
Leave the fans alone, they at least are passionate about something that's important to them. Kudos to them! As for the mexican flag, nobody minds it, and I being a Mexican American really find it discriminatory to hear or read a comment like that.

Well I think that you really have to be die hard fans to go camp out for the premiere, so more power to them. As for me I wouldn't do it but I probably camp out for the wristband to see the movie for free. Is that going to far? I guess not, but there are alot of pros. and cons. it's just up to you which out ways the other.
