PREACH IT! Gee, something tells us we're approaching a Michael Jackson milestone

Mj-video-game-web

In case you’ve somehow been buried alive and missed this: The anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death is coming up. The hype has already begun in earnest, with the announcement of a video game that will let players moonwalk alongside the self-proclaimed King of Pop. The late hitmaker also was inducted into the Apollo Legends Hall of Fame, and the Jackson family is apparently allowing mortals to approach unto Olympus Michael’s grave to leave their burnt offerings pay their respects.

Math -- cruel, cruel math -- indicates that we still have 10 days until the precise anniversary of the Gloved One’s death. That leaves 10 days for the drama to build to well-nigh hysterical proportions. Radar is doing its part by running a conspiracy piece about how MJ was supposedly murdered for his music catalog or something. (Which is totally silly. Come on. Everybody knows Michael Jackson died because his mom made him sad.)

And we here at MOG are, of course, participating in this sad anniversary in as classy a way as we can manage. We’ll keep you updated on all things MJ as the hoopla progresses.

Funny how people still have to make a buck off of Michael Jackson, even writing these 6th grade tween articles. I love it when the Michael Jackson Haters come on every Michael Jackson story and write how much they hate him, wow, I dislike Gene Simmons but yet I don't follow any of his stories nor comment on him, until now. PEOPLE just admit it you are Michael Jackson fans and are hurt by his loss and can't express it any other way but write cynical crap.

~ LOVE'n MJ Forever!

~ King of POP! often imitated but can NEVER be DUPLICATED!

Author of this article..... BRAIN DEAD INSENSATIVE MORAN!

Wow this writer is a jerk.
Luckily, he's a nobody and I wont have to stumble on his crap again. I'd say he is the self proclaimed class idiot.

MJ is perfection. Always.

@TVL. Christie D'Zurilla here from the blog. Actually, writer Leslie Gornstein is a woman.

Hey, nobody's perfect.

to Christie- what a flippant answer. We are not asking for perfection-only truthful, unbiased reporting, which apparently this site is not capable of doing.
The title of this site is appropriate- "GOSSIP"- it certainly is not journalism.

@Chris in San Diego -- Christie D'Zurilla here from the blog.

You are, of course, free to judge this blog after reading only single post -- though that seems especially silly to do when the post in question is one written by our "Preach It!" columnist, whose job it is to express her opinion. We do however have several folks posting here, and we hit any number of topics in a given day. You might be surprised by what you find elsewhere on the Ministry of Gossip.

Thanks, all, for reading and commenting.

To those who don't see their comments going live -- as I said before, we don't publish profanity or slurs, even if you put dashes or asterisks in the words.

I have seen this blog many times before- it's all gossip and conjecture- as I said, all we are asking for is the truth. Anyone can express their opinion- that's the problem-bloggers do that and people then believe what they read as gospel. A little integrity-that's all we want. And that, is MY opinion. I guess I'm just being silly.

I didn't even read the whole article same old trash.

Once, again, some have lost their ability to write with professionalism or intelligence especially when it comes to Michael Jackson.

~You're a parasite in black and white
~Do anything for news...MJ's(Tabloid Junkie)

You obviously have a lot of time on your hands to waste propelling stereotypes about someone, try something productive next time for a change. Please, try and be objective and add a touch of professionalism to your work.
May be then I will take you seriously as a journalist. However, this cluster you have up there is just laughable! What a tasteless piece of crap.

I'm a big Micheal fan... but what's the big deal. Article's fine. Don't take it so personal. RIP MJ.

people just refuse to recognize michael's genius. true legends and gifts from god can never be brought down. just know that, ms. leslie gornstein. next time you attempt to attack the talent, the brilliance, and the character, of anyone - not just michael - just know that you will always fail.

sorry to have to put it bluntly... but in all honesty... it's people like you that really bring the world down... you aren't just hurting a few individuals here and there... but you really make this world a tainted place.

thanks for your opinions on the subject - but learn to grow up a little bit.

In the world of free speech, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I think most Michael Jackson fans agree that everything surrounding Michael Jackson before and after his death is always a hoopla. When a person gets as big as he was/is it is not unexpected. It could be argued that The King Of Pop title was Michael's own PR invention (a genius thing to do by itself, if he actually did that), but if he didn't deserve that title, then it wouldn't have stuck for over twenty years. The internet crashed the day he died, if that doesn't show he deserved being called THE KING, then what does?
Michael Jackson broke many records throughout his life, but he also used his popularity to do many good things. Artists weren't as involved in humanitarian work at the level that they are today until he came along.
Why not be original and actually talk about the positive things he did in life. There are enough bloggers and "journalists" who made their career by shredding this man life on national TV.
I didn't mind your "article" until that gab about his mother. That was totally uncalled for and just low.

You are not a journalist. This is a trash article ridiculing the dead. It is obvious that your parents did not show you love as a child and you need to lash out at others to give yourself value. I feel sorry for you!

I like Colette C's post. Didn't she win a spelling bee or two back in the day? lol.

As for Mike, I do miss him. He was a musical genius. Not many of those around any more in this world of ours.

Hey, did you guys hear about the Michael
Jackson special, Gone Too Soon, that TV Guide Network's airing June 25th?

For the record why the heck would you post something like this? Michael means a lot to his family. And if they read this your going to get your "colum" burned. Sorry but I am sick of unprofessional people LIKE YOU bashing someone that you don't even know. So just stop it

totally love it...Michael Jackson has a soaring spirit and moves through us all

You may as well diminish Beethoven's greatness. If you knew or researched the impact this man had within and across inumerable art forms. Why do I keep being surprised? . . . I can't see the joy some get in demeaning a master of and in the arts, not to mention philanthropic grand generosity, more popular than religious and political figures. Friends with Nelson Mandela, Prince Albert, welcomed by both Democratic and Republican presidents . . . sad. The world is sad. I pray all who use Michael as a platform or springboard for jovial or demeaning blogs and articles, one day, have some type of epiphany or engage in both quantitative and qualitative research on the magnitude of this man's work. A sign of the times, I suppose, to diminish greatness . . . or worse yet, not recognize it. I am ultimately sad, and sadly, still surprised, as this continues to happen; though, obviously, I . . . we . . . not hysterical fans, but intelligent/educated arts appreciators, stand by his greatness . . . so do the best in the music, dance, film and arts industries. When's the last time Gene Kelley or Nelson Mandela endorsed someone's work?

I have been a fan of Michael Jackson for over thirty years and i am so sick of hearing people put him down why can't you people just accept that he was a genious no one said you have to like him but you also don't have to put him downh he may have been a megastar and always will be but most of all he was a father, son, brother and an uncle who's family doesn't need crap like this all the time, just let those of us who love him (family and fans) grieve in our own way and if that means keeping his memory alive then so be it.
REST IN PEACE MICHAEL YOU WILL ALWAYS BE LOVED AND MISSED BY THOSE THAT MATTER.

Christie D'Zurilla here from the blog -- it's been a week, and this one has run its course with comments.

Thanks to all for reading and commenting.
