John Mayer’s body is a wonderland. So, naturally, when he gets sick, taking care of his vessel is of the utmost concern -- even if it means making a few fans angry.

Mayer was “forced” to cancel several European shows (in Amsterdam, Madrid and Manchester, England) scheduled this week due to illness, according to the crooner’s website. Wonder what could be the source of this illness? Perhaps it’s that he really does have half a heart?

Following a sold-out performance in Copenhagen, Mayer had to cancel a second performance in the city -- which was to be held on Monday -- due to the unspecified illness.

Mayer is returning to the States to recover. He is scheduled to continue his tour in the United States in Charlotte, N.C., starting July 16.
