“The Dog Whisperer” star Cesar Millan and his wife, Illusion, have decided to divorce after 16 years together.

“The decision was made after much consideration and time,” says a brief note from the couple that was posted on Millan’s website Friday. “We remain caring friends, and are fully committed to the co-parenting of our two boys.”

Illusion Millan, who filed for divorce Friday, is seeking primary custody of sons Calvin and Andre, with visitation rights for and spousal support from Cesar, People magazine reports.
