David Archuleta sings, and maybe we should leave it at that

Archie-web You know how there are some videos you kind of wish you never saw? Like the really sad one with the two cats that's been going around? Before you click "play" and watch David Archuleta singing "Works for Me," above, remember that we warned you.

No, Archie doesn't get hit by a car or anything. And yes, his singing -- on a tune co-written and performed with Toby Lightman -- is quite nice.

It's just the look on his face while chatting afterward, when "Fox & Friends" host Brian Kilmeade, in a wee burst of reality-based interviewing, suggests to the 19-year-old that mayyyyybe pop icons Madonna and Elton John would not be likely to clear their calendars for multiple months to fill Simon Cowell's seat on the "American Idol" judges' panel.

Imagine someone offering a bacon sundae to an adorable little puppy, then telling the puppy it has to do calculus in its head first if it actually wants a sloppy ol' bite.

The puppy also has a memoir out, "Chords of Strength," and that's why he's doing the rounds. The book? It's either genuine or motivational, or a look at the most boring human being on the planet, depending on who you ask.

P.S. About that video with the cats -- don't watch it. You'll weep for weeks, at the oddest times, even if you don't like cats. Ask me how I know.

David Archuleta is just adorable, and as nice as he is cute. Love him!!

@Lynn -- Christie D'Zurilla here from the blog. "The most boring person on the planet" is actually a comment from a Boston Herald review that can, in blog fashion, be accessed if you click on those words. The descriptions "genuine" and "motivational" are also from reviews (similarly linked).

Click the colored words to read reviews of the book. Those who might have read this post copied and pasted onto a discussion board would not know that those links are present, and would not know that two positive reviews and one negative one are referenced.

Such a funny article. That's your complaint? That at 7AM in the morning, in the midst of the noise of Columbus Circle NYC, he had to really focus to hear what the reporter was saying? Hahaha. He is adorable and one of the nicest young men ever. He's honest, humble, charitable, hardworking, and kind to everyone. And one of our favorite things is that he is never put-on, always himself. He's unchanged by fame and really doesn't care much about fame or fortune other than looking for ways he can do good with it. David's my role model for being a nicer person.

Hi Christi. Have you ever met David Archuleta? I challenge you to try and meet him. He will win you over. And I challenge you to read Chords of Strength. This is not a shallow boring person, David is very thoughtful and inspiring. Ever been to one of David's concerts? They are the most fun I've ever had at a concert and I've been to many over the years. His voice is comparable to no one. You should try to look at the world and other people the way David does. It will make you a much happier person.

I have read this article 3x and don't understand a word the writer is trying to get across. This sounds written by a 12 year old. Have 12 year olds taken over to write for teen stars? Are they trying to say David is a puppy and adorable, or is the writer saying they themselves are not articulate enough to form a paragraph that is cohesive. This is one of the worst written reviews I have personally come across. I can't even understand if the book is good, cute, nice, ok. This writter should read their own material before hitting publish. David singing B , This writter D-

@Jasmine -- Christie D'Zurilla here from the blog. This post isn't a review of the book, which might explain the confusion. You can, however, read three reviews of the book by clicking the various links in the post.

Thanks for reading and commenting!

Whoever wrote this has too much time on their hands. Fail. Georgeann said it best - the article is really poorly done - so I'm not going to elaborate except to say cats are great and I don't see why you added to the article "you don't like them". How does that pertain to David at all?

Hey "writer" whoever it is who wrote this...why not try to write your own Memoir and lets see if people will line up for it........jealous much?...too bad youre too probably old fat and wrinkled..lol.
