Chace Crawford of 'Gossip Girl' arrested on marijuana charge in Texas
In a scenario more suited to the life of Chuck Bass than that of Nate Archibald, "Gossip Girl" actor Chace Crawford was arrested early Friday morning in Plano, Texas, on suspicion of possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana.
Crawford was in a 2003 Nissan 350Z with a male friend outside Ringo's Pub in Plano when they were questioned by police, who searched them and the car. According to TMZ sources, "one unlit joint" was found. A police spokeswoman told the Dallas Morning News she could not confirm that detail.

The actor, whom E! Online says was in the area visiting family and friends while "Gossip" is on hiatus, posted bail and is no longer in police custody. The misdemeanor charge carries a maximum sentence of 180 days in the pokey and a $2,000 fine.
Perhaps he was doing research for an upcoming bad-boy arc as character Nate?
Aside from his Upper East Side antics on the CW, Crawford played a drug dealer in the Sundance film "Twelve." Yeah, that one's too easy for us too.

If everyone in the country were to be arrested for possession of one joint, the jails would have mile-long waiting lines. I never liked marijuana. Don't like the smell, don't like the high. But I was smart enough to get off alcohol and cigarette addiction years ago, which really does kill its users and those near them (lung cancer, second-hand smoke, vehicle accidents, acute alcoholism, cirrhosis, etc.). How many fatalities has marijuana caused?

One unlit joint? Typical small town Texas overzealous fascist cop mentality. Most of the kids in rural Texas smoke pot. Texas has always had a hypocritical approach to policing. Arrests for the slightest infraction, while the big crimes of corruption and back room dealing go unpunished. All this while Gov. Rick Perry spends thousands of dollars of taxpayer money daily, living it up at the finest restaurants, shopping, traveling, and partying, and then having the nerve to bash California as being wicked and out of control.

Thank God they got that dangerous citizen off the streets! I'm sure this will really make people think twice before scoring more dope!
