Celebrity giving: Charlize Theron ditches the glitz to hang with kids in South Africa
News flash: Charlize Theron isn’t just a pretty face plastered along the cosmetics section of your local department store! When the glamazon isn’t turning heads on the red carpet or starring alongside big names in films, she makes her rounds as a humanitarian.
In this exclusive video, above, the leggy actress heads to South Africa as part of her Africa Outreach Project, which aims to create a safer and healthier life for impoverished children and communities in African nations. The footage was shot in 2009 and shows the actress -- minus the glitz and the glam -- engaging with some of the kids.

Theron left South Africa when Mandela and the ANC took over. She then returned to South Africa, Oscar in tow, to pay homage to - you guessed it - Mandela! The irony would be funny if thousands of innocent people hadn't died.
