Al Gore and Laurie David -- nothing to see here, folks, nothing to see [poll]

Gore-david-web When the Star tabloid hits newsstands Wednesday, it'll contain a story alleging Al Gore had a two-year affair with Laurie David, who was a producer on "An Inconvenient Truth," the former VP's global-warming documentary.

But perhaps gossip hounds should curb their enthusiasm before believing that "Seinfeld" creator Larry David's ex-wife was knocking boots with Tipper Gore's future ex-husband

Laurie David's agent, Dorian Karchmar, told People the report is "completely, patently false." David herself told the Huffington Post that the story is untrue, adding that she's been in "a serious relationship" since her 2007 divorce.

"I have no idea where it started from or why," Karchmar told People, "but it is absolutely, positively and patently untrue."

As a palate cleanser -- or is it?? -- we offer a few nonscientific online polls, after the break, courtesy of our Division of Absolutely Accurate Statistics:

"An Inconvenient Truth" is not a global-warming documentary, it's a global-warming mockumentary.

Just for the record....

Al Gore can't be fooling around on Tipper & me, I wont let it happen! And futher more, Tipper & Al will be back together soon!

Where there is smoke . . . most often there is fire. What a disappointment in Laurie David. Her daughters have to process that their mother is a homewrecker, another rich guy's mistress, deceitful, thoughtless, unkind, etc. If the Star tabloid really got this wrong then let's see Ms David file a lawsuit. Until that happens I have to believe that the Star had reasonable and compelling facts to print the story. Tipper deserved better. The Gore children and grandchildren deserved better. I guess Al Gore learned at the knee of Bill Clinton. What a gigantic letdown. Suddenly their causes take second place. Ms David will be labeled as Gore's Wh*re and that is not something her daughters should have to deal with. Good luck to Tipper. Stay the class act that you have always been. Perhaps Al Gore's mother needs to sit him down and discuss morals, reputation and ethical conduct.

What did I say. What. Did. I. Say. They buy an $8.9M house in April, and six weeks later announce their separation. Something happened. If it's indeed not Laurie (and who can resist scrutinizing that photo, posted elsewhere, of her grabbing onto Al's arm at the Oscars?), it's somethin'.

Please. This is as outrageous an allegation as John Edwards carrying on his relationship with documentary producer Rielle Hunter...more drivel from the GOP gossip hounds, no doubt. I'm sure there are other reasons...VP Gore did win an Oscar for "An Inconvenient Truth", so maybe he went Hollywood...are you sure Laurie didn't fall in love with one of Larry's "Curb Your Enthusiasm" co-stars? (Jeff Garlin, perhaps? Or Michael York?)

She's a cheater. Al isn't.
