Star sightings: Katy Perry rings in summer, Kim Kardashian throws bachelorette bash
The Ministry has so many celeb sightings from recent romps that we may need an eye exam by the time we're through. Pop some popcorn and tuck in, because here's where your favorites have been working and playing over the past week...
Mrs. Tom Cruise, actress Katie Holmes, celebrated her Mother's Day in total luxury with her tyke Suri. The ladies hit up La Prairie spa at the Beverly Hills Hotel, where little Suri ran around with a blond toddler cohort while Holmes got a mani-pedi.
On Saturday, mama Minnie Driver attended the Dog & Baby Buffet in Century City, where she and the likes of "Old Spice" hottie Isaiah Mustafa received multi-cloth GroVia diapers and other bambino swag — autographing new cloth diapers that'll be auctioned off to benefit Shriners Hospital for Children.
In Beverly Hills, celebs got sweet pampering at Crystal Light's On-the-Go Beauty event at salon Gavert Atelier. Among those celebrating mom and scoring treatments and hair touch-ups were "Iron Man 2" star Helena Mattson and her BFF Kayla Ewell of "The Vampire Diaries."
On Friday night, Katy Perry hit L.A. hotspot Trousdale with her fiance, Russell Brand, and unveiled her new single, "California Gurlz," with the help of close pals. Cocktails and red velvet cake were served after the track, while at a separate table, Avril Lavigne partied with her new beau, Brody Jenner, in the company of her ex Deryck Whibley ...
... who was gallivanting with sisters Nicky and Paris Hilton at another booth. Also spotted at Trousdale were Hilary Duff with her beau Mike Comrie, and Usher Raymond.
That same night over in Las Vegas, single lady Kim Kardashian threw a bachelorette bash for her pal La La Vazquez, who is marrying the Denver Nuggets' Carmelo Anthony. Kardashian, with the help of Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland, started with dinner for the three of them at Tao Asian Bistro, then followed with bubbly, bump-and-grinding and fan photos at the adjoining nightclub.
Social writer Derek Blasberg toasted the release of his book "Classy" on Thursday at the Missoni boutique in Beverly Hills, where Nicole Richie, Joel Madden and "Heroes" actress Ali Larter chowed on custom Crumbs cupcakes.
Across town in Hollywood that night, Capcom celebrated the release of its new video game, Lost Planet 2, with nerd pinup Olivia Munn hosting the likes of Ed Westwick, Gilles Marini and "Greek" cutie Gregory Michael.
Also Thursday, across the pond, Fergie and Bacardi rum hosted the official after-party for the Black Eyed Peas' tour stop in London. Josh Duhamel's wife was spotted rocking an Alexander McQueen clutch, and even shouted the designer's name in tribute while playing DJ for the crowd.
Did anyone bother resting up on Wednesday? Of course not -- it was Cinco de Mayo! From humble partying to hard-core clubbing, stars got festive for the occasion. Like "Glee" actor Mark Salling, who showed up at the Happy Ending Bar in Hollywood, where he was spotted sipping Tecates with friends.
Over at the soft opening of new spot Las Palmas, Lindsay Lohan partied margarita-free under the watchful eyes of her mother Dina and photog pal Tyler Shields (who just days before unveiled his art show "Collisions" with Monster energy drink).
The biggest Cinco bash by far, however, was the reunion of Jane's Addiction at Bardot Hollywood. Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro and Duff McKagen jammed for a crowd including Joaquin Phoenix and Bardot managing partner Jason Scoppa.
After the intimate performance, guests like Shane West enjoyed fiesta with Corzo tequila cocktails.
