Nothing like a mother-daughter quarrel after a hospital visit.

Just hours after country singer Mindy McCready was rushed to a Florida hospital Tuesday for an apparent overdose, her mother was speaking out to the media.

Gayle McCready Inge told RadarOnline.com that her daughter, who was staying with her in Fort Myers., Fla., tried to commit suicide.

“I asked Mindy, ‘How many pills did you take?’ ” Inge said. “She said, ‘Maybe 25.’ I said, ‘That’s it,’ and that’s when I called 911. Mindy told the 911 people that she absolutely didn’t care if she lost her life. My daughter is very, very sick.

“I tried to question her, but she was in and out of consciousness. I wanted to take her to hospital so there wouldn’t be media attention, but as I started to get going, Mindy said she was having trouble breathing.’

McCready — through a rep — said her mother was just overreacting.

Apparently all the commotion was just a bad reaction to a pain reliever McCready, who has since left the hospital, was taking after having broken her toe last weekend.

The hospitalization comes less than two years after McCready’s suicide attempt in 2008, when the singer took an overdose of pills.
