Linda Lovelace once told an interviewer that there was a gun to her head the whole time she was filming the porn classic ‘Deep Throat.’

How fitting, then, that word of Lindsay Lohan‘s supposed plans to star in a bio-pic about Lovelace comes by way of her photographer pal Tyler Shields, the guy who put a gun in her hand recently and coincidentally got a bunch of publicity for the ‘art’ that ensued.

Shields told E! Online on Saturday that he’d been contacted to do promotional shots for the film (working title ‘Inferno’), which in the past has been rumored as a vehicle for Anna Faris or, more recently, Rose McGowan. Both of those actresses reportedly backed out.

Gossip Cop had word a couple weeks back about Lindsay’s link to the Lovelace flick, saying an official announcement was expected to come at the Cannes Film Festival.

Lovelace, a.k.a. Linda Boreman, died in a 2002 car wreck; after a relatively brief 1970s adult film career, she became an anti-porn activist starting in 1981.

In other news from the Lohan family circus ...

... Michael Lohan‘s plane was struck by lightning Sunday when he was on his way from New York to L.A., where he plans to meet with lawyers about establishing a legal conservatorship for his eldest daughter, a la Britney Spears’ deal.

‘He won’t ever get to that,’ Lindsay told Gossip Cop on Sunday.

Hmm. And here Michael was telling TMZ he assumed his ex-wife Dina Lohan was the one praying for his in-flight woes ...
