Who says soccer’s World Cup has no appeal here in the States? We can see two reasons immediately -- soccer studs Cristiano Ronaldo and Didier Drogba -- thanks to the June cover of Vanity Fair magazine.

‘In America, these men might not enjoy the same name recognition as the stars of the NFL,’ the mag proposes, ‘but for most of the planet, they are more than just showstoppers. They are gods.’Shot for VF by Annie Leibovitz, the well-toned bunch don underwear representing their homelands. Think Cups of the World, on World Cup stars. There’s also a steamy behind-the-scenes clip available.

Are you a soccer fan? Who will you be watching in the World Cup come June? Tell us in comments.
