Corey Haim died of natural causes, coroner’s report says

A bad heart and pneumonia -- not a drug overdose -- killed actor Corey Haim, according to a Los Angeles County coroner’s report released Tuesday.

[Updated at 12:40 p.m. Wednesday: The Times’ Metro team has more details about the coroner’s report here.] TMZ says the coroner found trace amounts of drugs in Haim’s blood, but not enough to kill him. Haim’s name has come up since his death in connection with a state investigation into prescription drug fraud.

Death by natural causes is in line with an early ‘courtesy call’ from the coroner’s office that Judy Haim, Corey’s mother, discussed with Access Hollywood.
