Breaking up is hard to do. Just ask 'American Idol' runner-up Crystal Bowersox

What’s worse, losing "American Idol" or splitting with your boyfriend before losing "American Idol"?

Crystal Bowersox has the answer.

The Ohio native appeared on Ryan Seacrest’s show on KIIS-FM (102.7) Thursday and revealed that she and boyfriend Tony Kusian ended their relationship this week … on performance day. Now that's a surefire way to get the vocal cords warmed up.

“He wasn’t cool with the lifestyle,” she told Seacrest. “It was a mutual thing.”

He’s a small-town boy, she said. But she’s not saying she’s an uptown girl. She’s just wants “this career, this lifestyle, more than anything, and I didn’t think he was up for it. He didn’t think he was up for it. I’m a little sad he did it on performance day, but then again, it set that fire in my belly.”

Still, she said she was bummed he didn’t show up to the finale, where she was named runner-up.

Guess nice girls do finish last.

I loved this gal from day 1, I hope she continues with her singing career, she is a sure winner no matter what, I have a hunch they'll be lining up to sign her as everyone loved her, I think even those who may have been rooting for another person would go out and buy her albums. As for her ex-boyfriend, I think he should get a real kick in the backside for his timing and especially for not being there on the final night, how thoughtless, I just hope she remembers his treatment of her and doesn't forgive him when very very soon she is rich as she is already famous! You go girl, you have the entire world at your fingers now! Knock em Dead, and I know your Dad will be right there all the way rooting you on!

I really like Crystal - big heart, big voice, big talent and so real it's impossible for her to fake anything. She reminds me of David Cook, whom I LOVE and have followed daily for 3 years and who NEVER NEVER disappoints you. They both have this inner integrity and can fill up a stage like few others. They don't need props or pyro or glitter or autotune. They are the real deal.
