said it -- California girls, they’re unforgettable. This is certainly the case with Blake Lively, the perpetual “It” girl lucky enough to land a second cover of Vogue. For June, editor at large Hamish Bowles joined photog Mario Testino on Moonlight Beach, not far from Lively’s native sands in La Jolla, for a gorgeous shoot featuring the actress and surf pro Rob Machado.

In slinky sundresses, tiny shorts and tossed beach hair, Lively embodies the carefree girl of the season. Personally, the actress is working overtime.

To her already hectic “Gossip Girl” schedule, add the currently filming “Green Lantern” update starring Ryan Reynolds. Lively will portray the villainous Carol Ferris.

“Our director [Martin Campbell] likes it real -- the fights close and dirty,” Lively said of her stunts, which she says make for awesome workouts.

“I’m 40 feet in the air, spiraling around ... it’s all core. You do that for 10 minutes and you should see your body the next day! It’s so exhilarating, so thrilling -- and nauseating,” she said.

See more shots of Lively (and perhaps the best photo ever of the super-stylish Bowles) after the jump.
