Anna Wintour, Donatella Versace try DIY design for Art of Elysium

As a precursor to tonight's glamorous Met Gala, well-heeled stars turned up Saturday to Art of Elysium's Bright Lights charity bash in New York -- including Anna Wintour, Donatella Versace and Christian Siriano. 

DIY expert Erica Domesek (who recently helped Nicole Richie with Earth Day crafts) was on hand with Dasani Plantbottle to encourage the crowd to make accessories from recycled goods.

Wintour and daughter Bee Shaffer made hats from velour and recycled zippers, as did Versace and hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons.
