Tiki Barber's wife cites adultery as she files for divorce

Tiki nbc It didn't take Ginny Barber long to go on the offensive.

Tiki Barber's wife filed for divorce Monday, citing adultery as grounds for the split, the New York Post reports.

Out-of-court negotiations apparently weren't going so amicably, a friend of the Barbers told the Post. "Tiki refused to give her anything close to what she needs. The reason she filed is that settlement talks didn't work."

This after the former NFL star and at-least-for-now "Today" correspondent issued a generic statement earlier this month that he and his wife of 11 years -- oh wait, his pregnant-with-twins wife of 11 years -- were separating and "moving forward amicably."

The initial bump in the amicable road came almost immediately, when it was made public that Tiki had been having an affair with Traci Lynn Johnson, a former NBC intern 12 years his junior whom he met, according to the Post, when she was a student at Mount St. Mary College in New York. Tiki is currently living with Traci, the paper says.

For the record, Tiki began dating Ginny when she was in college too. At the time, 16 years ago, they both were.

Did we mention Ginny's been in the hospital for bed rest related to her pregnancy -- a pregnancy that post-dates the start of the alleged affair? Yeah. She has been.

Good luck with that, Tiki.

What a jack! Hope he gets what he deserves.

Hey pregnancy doesn't postdate the affair. those two had been seeing each other for almost two years. even worse!

@moi -- Christie D'Zurilla here from the blog to clarify my convoluted (but accurate) sentence.

The post says "a pregnancy that post-dates the start of the affair," as in, the pregnancy started *after* the affair did (which is your point). It might have been more clear to write "an affair that pre-dates the pregnancy," but grammar didn't allow that.

Good luck, NBC, with advertising NFL games with Horndog Barber as an analyst! Any man who steps out on a pregnant wife for a bimbo deserves all the scorn he gets! And as for the "intern"-thanks for making it harder for women to attain decent positions in sportscasting! You're just as bad as a whore!

Well it was bound to happen...seems like athletes and marriage don't exactly mix well...Oh well....don't get mad girl...get everything...absolutely!
