The late DJ AM has a cameo in ‘Iron Man 2’ -- apparently in a key scene -- our friends at Hero Complex are reporting exclusively after chatting with director John Favreau.

Favreau said star Robert Downey Jr. ‘took a real shine’ to the man also known as Adam Goldstein, who with Travis Barker of Blink-182 famously survived a 2008 plane crash. What Favreau had planned as a ‘one-day bit’ turned into a week on set for DJ AM. Goldstein died Aug. 28 of an accidental drug overdose, and the film wound up being dedicated to his memory.

‘We tried to make [the cameo] respectful, and for people who know him, they’ll get a kick out of it and for people who don’t, it will sort of slide by without much notice,’ Favreau said Wednesday. Check out Hero Complex for more details about the scene, and about DJ AM.
