We’ve always had a soft spot for Scarlett Johansson, and our positive feelings for her were only strengthened when she graced the red carpet for the premiere of ‘Iron Man 2’ in Hollywood on Monday night.

Case in point? Check out her endearing response to the Japanese journalist to our right, who asked every star walking down the carpet to say hello to their fans halfway around the world in Japan.

Johansson plays the feisty Black Widow in the film, which marks her first big turn as an action star. Training for the intense stunts was quite a shift from her work in recent romantic comedies, she said.
‘It was slightly painful, but in the end it really paid off, I have to say,’ she said, smiling. ‘It was a lot of stunt training, strength training, weight resistance training and all of that stuff, and it really paid off in the end. I was able to do the stunt work, and I’m very excited to see how it pans out tonight.’

As for why ‘Iron Man’ has such wide appeal, the actress attributes the phenomenon surrounding the film to its star.

‘He’s a bad-ass in every sense of the word,’ she said.
