Jessica Alba is smokin’ -- but this time fish sticks are involved

In New York for the Tribeca Film Festival, Jessica Alba attempted some home cooking in her hotel room early Tuesday evening, and things went downhill from there, according to the New York Post.

The actress -- preparing a fish-sticks dinner for daughter Honor -- couldn’t quite figure out how to work the oven, causing smoke that set off fire alarms and resulted in the appearance of firefighters at the boutique Smyth Hotel.

Battling the usual ‘where there’s smoke, there’s fire’ assumption, Alba’s rep told People on Thursday that, well, there was no fire.
