Adam Lambert wasn't lying about being a redhead ... [poll]

Lambert-suit A while back, the Ministry had a post about Adam Lambert appearing on Chelsea Handler's show and sharing with the group that he'd been a fat, closeted redhead growing up — a look that was long gone, he said, 'cause "Opie doesn't do rock 'n' roll."

Today, our friends over at Culture Monster present photographic evidence that Lambert wasn't exaggerating much at all. Click here to see for yourself.

Incidentally, Adam, we do think you were a bit hard on yourself in the weight department.

Nice suit though.

You know what? I think if we took a poll of people mostly no one would like their high school pictures much. Whatever his journey might have been to who he is now...it made him a really talented singer and a very grounded, nice guy.

@annie -- Christie D'Zurilla here from the blog. I totally agree! I used to look pretty much like Tom Petty with a bad perm.

No lie.

Click through to the other post to see his Chelsea Handler interview where he talks about being a goof in high school -- it's totally "Adam," if you know what I mean. And I *do* think you know what I mean.

HEY!! I think I'm gonna add a poll. Seriously. This could be fun.

I think Adam needs to make peace with his younger self. He's way too hard on his younger self. If he hasn't learned it yet, I hope he soon learns that the beautiful people in high school peaked too early. Believe me, I saw that when I went back for my 10th reunion -- all those 'gorgeous' popular kids did not, let us say, maintain their status as 'most attractive'. In fact, most of the gawky kids ended up being the most attractive adults and adulthood lasts a lot longer than high school. Adam has become a beautiful adult and I hope he realizes that some day.

Since we're sort of talking about "cool" factor here - I don't know whether it's cool or not to admit this - but I watch a lot of Lambert interviews, and not one, nothing so far, has changed my opinion that Lambert is seemingly one heck of a nice human being. As someone who loved Meatloaf, Prince, Duran Duran, Adam Ant etc. (okay, so know you can figure out my age range) I am absolutely loving Lambert's music... but man, it is also so nice to see success come to someone who appears to be such a damn nice person... and sort of weirdly satisfying in some way too.

That history of goofiness is probably what made Adam so wonderful! He certainly turned into a stunning beauty, but I also think he looks totally lovable as a goofy red-head. It is fun to watch a beautiful man move like he does, but the most amazing characteristics of Adam come from within.

I would never have recognized Adam in that "spotlight" picture. Just goes to show you what a genius he is to change his persona into the gorgeous star that he is today! I love the whole Adam Lambert success story. It's really heartwarming to see how someone with so much potential and talent go through a metamorphosis and come out into the world as this beautiful butterfly. Wow!

I agree with others who have said that Adam is too hard on his younger self. If only he could see that he was a good-looking kid. Granted, he didn't have that slinky, sexy, "rock god" thing going back then that he does now, but he was handsome in a wholesome, boy-next-door kind of way. He has such beautiful bone structure, and that is something that never changes even as we age or gain/lose weight.

Redheads Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age), Axl Rose (Guns N' Roses), and Dave Mustaine (Megadeth) rock way harder than lame-O Lambert.

Although he's handsome now, he looked better as a redhead.

My friend Sarah Afshar has the same voice teacher as Adam Lambert. She use to be the same way and now she looks amazing. She's also around the same age as Adam is. They both studied at Met2. Adam Lambert is one of the greatest singers alive and the fact he can entertain and knows who he is makes him that much better.
