Immediately after learning that Marie Osmond‘s 18-year-old son Michael Blosil apparently had committed suicide, Donny Osmond and the rest of the brothers boarded his jet and headed from Utah to be with their sister in Las Vegas, he said.

‘Whenever there’s a situation where there needs to be rallying,’ Donny told ‘The Insider,’ ‘the Osmonds rally around each other and support each other. And, there’s a lot of that going on right now.’

[Updated at 11:53 p.m.: According to Marie Osmond’s website, her shows with Donny at the Flamingo are canceled March 2-6, and will resume March 9.]

Don Osmond, son of Donny and Debbie Osmond and cousin to Michael, wrote in a Monday column for the Mormon Times website that ‘[f]or me, spending time with family — just being together — has helped to provide a little serenity amongst the tumult. I love my family greatly. We rally together to tend to each other’s needs during these crises.’ That website also has just published an article about suicide signs and prevention.

The brothers gathered again in Utah on Monday night ...

... for a one-night-only concert to support the release of nephew David Osmond‘s new album. David, you might remember, was a contestant on ‘American Idol.’
Brian Blosil, Michael’s father, attended the Monday event as well. Brian and Marie split in 2007 after more than 20 years of marriage. (People magazine is reporting today that Michael had changed his name to Michael Bryan.)

Michael’s cause of death won’t be determined for several weeks, according to L.A. Now, pending results of toxicology and other tests (as the Ministry has reported before, this is fairly standard). However, officials do think he leaped off the 15-story building where he lived and said that, although its contents won’t be made public, a note Michael wrote before his death had been found.
