Katherine Heigl almost puts the 'show' in ShoWest

It was a moment straight from a chick flick.

Katherine Heigl nearly revealed another facet of her audience appeal Thursday when she picked up ShoWest's Female Star of the Year award -- and almost dropped her top in front of a crowd of movie exhibitors and distributors.

Oops.

This wasn't a planned wardrobe stunt: A while before going on stage at the conference's final event in Las Vegas, E! News' cameras captured a moment when Heigl, kvetching a bit about the bajillion beauty details she'd had to attend to before making her appearance. 

"Ohh! I think I just popped something," said the new brunet, eyes wide. Then she brushed off whatever had happened on her left shoulder as no big deal. 

Turns out the real popping was yet to come -- but fortunately her reflexes were fast, and emcee Billy Bush had Heigl's back.

And ultimately her strap.

It would be decent of you to actually show the video you claimed you would. You went on about how nothing was exposed. All well and good but not nice to hype what you don't deliver. A still shot is not the announcer getting her back or her cool in catching the errant strap. Be more honest next time in like " We'll show you a blah blah blah but cut to a still of what we promised and won't deliver"

Sorry to disappoint you with insufficiently titillating video. We, like E!, thought her on-camera comment about popping her dress in advance of the wardrobe malfunction was interesting. And when we wrote, "See the E! video after the jump," we were actually referring to the E! video mentioned *before* the jump, and not to any video you might have hoped existed.

Apologies for not revealing Katherine Heigl's not-revealed breast, which we never in fact said we'd reveal. Reading is fundamental.
