PREACH IT! Lindsay Lohan says she’s off drugs and booze. More or less believable than ‘I Know Who Killed Me’?

Back in 2007, Lindsay Lohan was the world’s favorite hot mess. She slid around Hollywood in wardrobe that fell somewhere between Carrie Fisher Attends Night Ranger Concert and Sad Flashdancer Who Lives in Her Car.

Cut to 2010. The sad flashdancer no longer lives in her car. Lohan has apparently decided to clean up her act. She’s looking a bit more polished (her lipstick appears to be colored within the lines) and she’s done a new interview confessing all kinds of -- apparently past -- sins.

In an interview with Britain’s Sun newspaper, Lohan reveals that:

  • She abused drugs both legal and illegal. ‘I tried to mask my problems with alcohol, cocaine and mind-altering substances. Now I’m in a place where I don’t need to use anything and I can feel emotions because I choose to.’
  • She has been to rehab three times. The first stint was triggered by a bizarre incident, she says. “The first time I checked myself in because I had taken Ambien. It’s a sleeping aid but it makes you hallucinate,” Lohan tells the Sun. “I’d run a bath and fallen asleep on the floor and the bath had overflowed. When I woke up I was so scared, I called my therapist and said, ‘Can I just go somewhere for a month?’ ‘
  • She now attends alcohol education meetings once a week and sees a therapist every two weeks, she says.
