Chikezie Eze, the onetime LAX baggage screener who sang and charmed his way into the Top 10 in Season 7 of ‘American Idol,’ was arrested Thursday night in Beverly Hills on suspicion of felony identity theft. He’s now out on $50,000 bail and due in court in Beverly Hills on Monday morning.

Not sure whose identity was allegedly stolen, however.

Eze was attempting to buy two bottles of cologne using a new Neiman Marcus credit card -- which he said had his name on it -- when the card was flagged and he was taken to security for questioning until the police arrived. He was told there was a problem with something ‘untrue’ on his application, TMZ reports, and said that security mentioned something about the business name on the application.

‘I haven’t done anything wrong myself and I’m pretty confident nothing is going to happen,’ the singer said Friday morning. Law enforcement sources told TMZ later that the card had been flagged as stolen.

At this point we’d just like to mention that onetime teen idol Leif Garrett, who just pleaded not guilty to felony heroin possession after an arrest in downtown L.A., had bail set at $10,000, and actor Adrian Pasdar, charged with misdemeanor DUI, had to pony up $15,000 after being pulled over on the 405 freeway in West L.A.

Even bail is pricey in Beverly Hills?
