Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart say yes to cheap dates, no to the People's Choice Awards

Who knew! After all this time, it looks like Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are just a couple of low-key kids who really don't like attention that much.

HollywoodLife is reporting that the two not only kept it low-key for their New Year's Eve on the Isle of Wight, but they did it on the cheap.

The maybe-couple showed up at a "dive bar" called Winter Gardens, HL says, where the cover charge was only around $5 per head, with $1.50 shot specials.

“Rob and Kristen were totally normal,” a source said, “they acted like regular people and blended in with the regulars.”

Well, we know millions of regular people who won't get to see these two tonight ...

... that'd be the whole of North America, or the chunk that's watching the People's Choice Awards. Pattinson and Stewart will both be no shows, despite their nominations in the favorite movie actor and favorite movie actress categories. Robert has to work, OK?

Perhaps they'll just find a nice local dive bar and snuggle with draft specials while watching on the telly.

It seems pretty apparent that the only ones who attend the People's Choice awards are the ones who either win or are presenting. You already know the winners by who is in attendance. That takes away a bit from the show. I was very sorry not to see Kristin and Rob on the show, but resented very much the little skit with Queen Latifah making fun of Rob for not being there. For me even seeing clips of New Moon with him in it was the highlight. New Year's Eve was almost a week ago. I don't think he and Kristen are still some place drinking cheap drinks so no need for that little crack either.

Part of the reason Rob and Kristen are so lovable is that they aren't the norm/average (Hollywood type). Taylor Lautner (dear that he is) is People's Choice Award's material. Rob and Kristen are a breath of fresh air, who don't give a hoot about a silly awards show. The fact that they would rather do something low-key and normal together makes them that much more cool and relatable, which for me is part of their draw.

Yes and No. If you don't think they're a couple by now, and not just dating but full-on "finish-each-others-sentences" kind of together, than you're either hard up, a cynic or delusional. I feel for you, I really do. Not going to start going over the evidence here because quite frankly if you hava an opnion on the subject you should know it all, and I mean over a 2 years worth of videos, interviews, articles, 2nd-hand accounts, Tweets, etc. If you can't tell me what "The Charlie" is you shouldn't even be reading this "article". No they didn't need to attend this show, regardless of the reason. Ask their fans who saw them work their butts off at the New Moon premiere to sign autographs, who noticed they didn't take a lot of pics so they could spend more time with their fans. WE all know that was their choice. They were exhausted and deserve this down-time together. So cut them slack, if you're capable of it.

i don't know what to think of them as a couple, i mean they may be. but who knows. as for the peoples choice awards. they're grown, they make their own choices and decisions and they're not OBLIGATED to be anywhere so if they didn't want to go they have every right not to...it's fine with me

Have no idea if they are a couple or just good friends. But who cares, how many 19 and 23 year olds really stay together in the long run anyway? Much less a famous couple in the spotlight all the time? If they are a couple, great, I just don't see it lasting long term.

Comment? It is obvious, these two have an unbreakable special bond. They are not an ordinary people(anymore), so they can't have "ordinary dating/relationship" like ordinary people, but they try. This escapade (the NYE) is one of those moments they'd like to have, very personal, very unique, mingle between ordinary people for a change. I believe this special bond (you do see I try very hard not to say love) they have, is one of those that last a lifetime. Even if they go separate ways one day, there always will be a special place in each of their hearts - for the other one. They have met (in this life) and there is no turning back. It is their karma.

I think that Rob and Kristen shouldbe able to do whatever they want to do, without the constant scrutiny of the public. If they're dating then let them date!

However, I think it probably was slightly inconsiderate not to show up to an awards show where you have been nominated FAVOURITE actor or actress. It's a very big accalade and not one to be casual about attending or not.

If they WERE still on the Isle of Wight though, maybe it wasn't possible to attend? The snow over here has been terrible and most airports (accept the main- Heathrow) have been closed. Even at Heathrow, there are delays and cancellations.

Maybe they planned to go but were unable. I think the fans might have to forgive them this once :)

I don't know about ya'll, but when I'm done with my work shift, the last face I want to look at is my co--workers, let alone fly across the ocean to spend NYE with him and his buddies. Taht's girlfriend duties right there-hanging out with his friends at a dive bar on NYE. lol

I feel really sorry for them as people. Even if they were a couple it's actually no ones business. People should respect that. Somehow people have got it in their heads that just because they are actors that they have rights to their personal lives. You wouldn't be as concerned of people you see on the streets everyday. Acting is their job not their life. I'm pretty sure they just want to live their lives as normal as possible, or they wouldn't go to so much trouble to do so. People should just leave them alone.

RK I loved your comment, you hit the nail right on the head!! I agree with everyone who has stated that they don't to tell the public a damn thing. It's not our business our celeb couples don't make annoucements about their significant others, so why should they? I also think that there was no mystery during the awards and it was very apparent that the ones in attendance were presenters or the winners themselves. They really need to jazz up this awards show! I love Rob and Kristen equally because they are very down-to-earth and they are very real! I love their laid-back I'm not here to impress anyone attitudes. It's so refreshing and it's honestly why I like them so much besides their talent.
