Michael C. Hall of 'Dexter' recovering from cancer
Michael C. Hall, star of Showtime's "Dexter" and, before that, HBO's "Six Feet Under," has been fighting cancer -- Hodgkin's lymphoma, specifically -- and is recovering now that the disease is in remission, he revealed today in a statement.
Hodgkin's lymphoma is one of the most curable types of cancer, according to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. It is most likely to be diagnosed in people
in their 20s or 30s, becoming less common in middle age and more common again after 60.
"I feel fortunate to have been diagnosed with an imminently treatable and curable condition," said Hall, who is 38. "I thank my doctors and nurses for their expertise and care."
He'll continue with scheduled treatments, he said -- and the Golden Globe nominee will also attend that award show Sunday ...
... with his wife and "Dexter" costar, Jennifer Carpenter. (They got married on the sly at the end of 2008; of course, they play siblings -- by adoption -- on the show.)
And expect to see him at the SAG awards Jan. 23 as well -- he's a double nominee, for outstanding performance by a male actor in a drama series and outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series.
