Five days of 'The Runaways'! Kristen Stewart on Joan Jett -- and the whole blogger problem

Joan Jett has a great admirer in Kristen Stewart. The young actress told me about her respect for the rocker Sunday at the Sundance Film Festival. 

"My biggest problem is bloggers," Stewart said of her modern struggles, compared to Jett's burden of breaking into the boys club of rock music. 

For being a girl playing guitar, "Joan had bottles thrown at her," Stewart marveled.

"What she has now is a thick, developed armor," Stewart said. "She's in tune with herself, honest, and has a self-preservation thing."

And about those pesky bloggers, perpetuating a maybe-romance with "Twilight" leading man Robert Pattinson?

"Hearsay is sometimes really awesome and sometimes really destructive," she said. "I don't care."

I'm looking forward to the movie! I grew up in the late 70s through 80s (is that giving away my age...eh...) the "age of Rock". From what I have seen of the trailers its going to be good. Looking forward to "The Runaways" and the "--Rileys".

All this speculation about the two....I say to that-- peeps get a life. I'm a big Twilight fan. If they are an item then so what! They wouldn't be the first. I mean they're single, talented, beautiful people, that have very similar tastes. If they aren't then again whup. They are human just like us. They put their pants on one leg at a time. The only difference is they get paid a hek of alot of money to be in movies.

I've been in a movie (Secretariat) as an extra working VERY close to the main characters and supporting actors. It was very lllooooonnng hours (which I'm used to cause I'm an RN (& Forensic nurse), wife, & mother of two boys one is Autistic...in the REAL WORLD) so I can see why they become close, although they get breaks/down time inb/w jobs. But they need they're personnal life to be just that....cause everything else the paps and media go ape for. I mean its ridiculous! They are just in movies... Not the men and women dying for us& our freedom overseas the docs, nurses, firefighters, service men/women that save lives constantly day in and day out w/o thank yous...including those right now VOLUNTEERING....yes offering their expertise for free in horrible dangerous conditions right now in Haiti....Heres a BIG THANK U from me(ok getting off the soap box now.)

I'm just glad they're using their popularity for good (raising awareness and money for excellent charities). So here's to them getting through this time of hype. Its bound to die down when something else NEW & SHINIER comes along..

I can't wait to see this - I think both of these young actresses are superb talents, and I wish them well with this film.

Kristen can't really win in trying to keep what she owns with regards to her private life. This is another kind of generation when almost everybody got an access to the internet. Normally they are all fans who are so obsessed about her relationship to this hunky British. The fascination is overwhelming that they put up blogsites dedicated to both of them. The problem is they are the ones who are more exposing about them than most of the tabloids did. They are more so into it that probably made her uncomfortable. They don't stop but talked about them everyday, even without sightings of them and I supposed they are the ones that motivates the pappzz and the tabloids and feeds their needs and they are the ones as well who will say to those like "leave them alone!" After all, despite of her strong personality, she seems to be frustrated of all her effort to keep her realtionship under wrapped but her obsessed fans doesn't care at all about her privacy thing.
