Simon Cowell to end his 'American Idol' run?
Wow, we figured Simon Cowell would miss ribbing Paula Abdul on "American Idol," but we didn't think it'd come to this.
Cowell's older brother, Tony, said on a podcast that the master of cut-to-the-quick criticism will be leaving "Idol" after 2010 so he can concentrate on bringing his U.K. hit "The X Factor" to the U.S. market in 2011.
Remember how "American Idol" came out of the U.K.'s "Pop Idol"? Yeah, like that.
Tony Cowell said that a release is being prepared, but Simon and Fox aren't talking.
Except to announce some changes in the show. ...
Hint: No more wild-card round. And, oh yeah, Ellen DeGeneres will join the panel of judges starting with Hollywood Week.
Did Tony just figure nobody would be listening?
With Simon or without, Fox reportedly is close to inking a deal for three more "Idol" seasons.
Think the Ministry is wrong about the "Simon misses Paula" thing?
