Russell Crowe. Ridley Scott. The new 'Robin Hood' trailer. The Ministry can die happy. [Video]
Normally, the Ministry's high priestess and top bureaucratic functionary (that'd be me) is fairly rational when addressing issues of fame, celebrity, nudity, profanity, infidelity and entertainment in general.
But when it comes to Russell Crowe, all bets are off.
I become a babbling fool.
Unless, of course, you realize that ...
It's a movie from the same Ridley Scott who directed "Gladiator," the best film ever in the history of the universe -- a film that also stars Russell Crowe.
And you might notice that the "Robin Hood" trailer indicates that Russell Crowe will once again get to ride a really cool horse into some sort of really cool battle, while screaming at the top of his lungs in the way that only Russell Crowe can.
Did we mention that Russell Crowe wore an awesome little leather skirt thing in "Gladiator"? Did we have to? Isn't that why Russell Crowe won best actor for the performance?
That'd be the same Russell Crowe who stole this rigid bureaucrat's heart in "L.A. Confidential" before he even was, you know, Russell Crowe.
I'm done now. (Not really, but the medication is kicking in.)
Thanks for humoring me.
And the trailer really is worth a watch.
