Eddie Vedder gets engaged, then reminds Springsteen he’s awesome

Pearl Jam lead singer Eddie Vedder has gotten engaged to model Jill McCormick, his longtime girlfriend and the mother of his two kids, according to E! Online.
The two were in Washington, D.C., over the weekend for a Sunday night tribute to Bruce Springsteen, one of five artists receiving Kennedy Center Honors this year. Vedder performed an acoustic version of Bruce’s “My City of Ruins,” with a gospel choir.
Vedder popped the question Friday night, E! says.
Also at the Kennedy Center, either watching or presenting or performing: President Obama and first lady Michelle, Melissa Etheridge, Jon Stewart, Meryl Streep, Martin Scorsese, Harvey Keitel, Ed Norton, Sharon Stone, Ben Stiller, Matthew Broderick, Martin Short, Ben Harper, Harry Connick Jr., Jack Black and Jane Krakowski, among others
Robert De Niro, Mel Brooks, Dave Brubeck and opera soprano Grace Bumbery are the other honorees.
It’s the first marriage for McCormick; Vedder was married once before, from 1994 to 2000, to Beth Liebling, whom he had dated since he was a teen.
