Courtney Love no longer daughter Frances Bean Cobain's legal guardian
The former Nirvana frontman's mother, Wendy O'Connor, and sister, Kimberly Dawn Cobain, have temporary guardianship of the 17-year-old until February, MTV reports, though no control of her trust fund.
Love had regained custody of Frances Bean back in 2005; she'd lost it after an overdose in 2003 at which the child, then 11, had been present.
Courtney was not present in court Friday when the documents were filed, TMZ reports.

I think lots of music fans wish nothing but the best for Frances Bean. She seems like a relatively well adjusted girl considering the history of addiction and (very likely) mental illness on both sides of her family. Hopefully she's now getting the love and support that she needs from her extended family.
(And I've always had an inexplicable soft spot for Courtney. I hope she gets through this, whatever it may be.)

Elsewhere, Courtney is featured in a photo slide show, a frame of which features the overlaid words, "Nobody's fool."
What nonsense. Of course she's a fool: See Frances Bean.
Courtney would prefer to be perpetually, oh, 15, You'd think three decades (or at least the latter two decades) of time passing would've clued her into the reality ...
but you'd be wrong.

I can’t help but wonder at the timing. She’s 17 for heaven’s sake. That’s usually when you start backing off and just watch the clock till they turn 18. I wonder if this has something to do with her trust fund. If she wants to position that or start some maneuvers.
She can’t sit still or just wait it out for less than a year? That’s the sound of the barking dog to me so to speak. There’s something critical going on that’s pushing her to move now rather than wait around for a few months.
