Brooke Mueller's 911 call about Charlie Sheen released [AUDIO]
A 911 call was made Christmas morning from the Aspen, Colo. home where Brooke Mueller and Charlie Sheen were staying -- police responded, and Sheen was eventually arrested.
Now the Aspen Police Department has released the 911 tape, and you can listen for yourself -- just click "play" on the image above.
In the tape, Brooke describes Sheen as having a knife, and mentions that other people are in the house with them. When Brooke says Sheen is trying to leave, the 911 officer says that, if possible without endangering anyone, it would be best if he could be encouraged to stay while the officers respond to the call. She says repeatedly, "I have to file the report."
The "Two and a Half Men" actor was arrested that morning and released on bail in the evening. He'll return to court Feb. 8, 2010, concerning counts of second degree assault, menacing and criminal mischief, all coupled with a domestic violence component.
According to police spokeswoman Stephanie Dasaro, details on the department's case report and investigation won't be be available at this time, to avoid compromising the integrity of any subsequent prosecution.
[Update, 8:01 p.m.: Just stumbled across this article about Brooke's take on Charlie's bad-boy reputation.]

I listened and she stated...." he was actually in another room....and there was other people there also... plus she is in another room & safe.".!!!..???
Also stated he threatened her...? Who says in a complaint...." he threatened me"...??? Usually its....more specific and exact, like " he said he was going to run me over... or something... not the word threatened.
What does that mean.? I tell my kids they are going to get it if they don't get home on time..! Is that a threat...?
Also stated had a pocket knife.. ..? Oh no..!
And he's trying to leave...? Why not let him leave.. if its that big of a threat..?
Give me a break..... He can't win for loosing...

I don't understand how something like this can be made public. Shame on our society for allowing it. It's well documented that people love dirty laundry. Why does a law enforcement organization release it for public consumption? WHY????

It's "losing" Ralph, the word is "losing". Loosing means something else completely.

Sure, who among us has not made threats against someone on christmas morning?....really

(Sigh) Charlie Sheen and I have shared some interesting conversations
specifically regarding the use of marijuana vs. alcohol --where we
have both appeared on various talk shows and entertainment programs.
Reflecting on the personal conversations I've had with Charlie--Check
out the recent research that I've encountered with actual facts and
statistics.
Studies find alcohol use contributes to aggressive behavior and acts
of violence, whereas marijuana use reduces the likelihood of violent
behavior.
Alcohol is clearly the drug with the most evidence to support a
direct intoxication-violence relationship.
Cannabis reduces likelihood of violence during intoxication…

Behaviors. 28, pages 1533-1554. Drugs of abuse and the elicitation of
human aggressive behavior. Dept. of Psychology, University of Western
Ontario. Dept. of of Psychiatry, Dalhousie University.
Alcohol use is highly associated with violent crime, whereas
marijuana use is not.
About 3 million violent crimes occur each year in which victims
perceive the offender to have been drinking at the time of the
offense.
Two-thirds of victims who suffered violence by an intimate (a current
or former spouse, boyfriend, or girlfriend) reported that alcohol had
been a factor.
Among spouse victims, 3 out of 4 incidents were reported to have
involved an offender who had been drinking.

A pocket knife with a four inch blade, according to one of the posted stories. Four inch blade held to her throat. Anyone in their right mind would be scared. Ralph, did it occur to you that she may have found a way to phone a family member during the crisis and the people in the other room got there AFTER the whole thing started? Perhaps their arrival actually saved her life? And of course keep him there - if it's safe - easier for the police to pick him up.
Ralph, you are apparently uneducated about domestic violence. She was obviously crying and also said she thought she was going to die for one hour. Try picturing yourself in a situation where someone stronger than you is threatening, terrorizing and completely overpowering you and there is nothing you can do to stop it.
This is not the first time this has happened with him - Charlie Sheen had a conviction 10 years ago for domestic violence. This is a terrifying situation for a victim. It's an ongoing, daily threat. You never know when he'll be nice or when he'll "blow" - like living with Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. People always say why doesn't she just leave, like it's so easy - it's not. Intentional or not, abusers tear down their victims, breaking them at their core and leaving them feeling helpless, incapable, isolated and alone. It is how they make themselves feel powerful.
Two and a Half Men is one of my favorite shows, and Charlie Sheen plays my favorite character in the show. When I first heard about this, I hoped it was some sort of misunderstanding and was not true. However, in view of the fact this is his history, I'm done watching the show (or any other project of his) until he accepts responsibility and gets help.

Charlie is one of the best actor of this time. Please don't do media trail. Because of his shady past. Who knows Brooke might be trying to cash it out.

Lynn,
Seriously? You take something from one source (the media) and immediately view it as fact? At least wait until the trial and evidence is released, there are a lot of things that could have happened you and i do not know about. Also, you make it sound like he consistently treats women in a horrible way. A conviction 10 years ago and nothing in the time between now and then hardly shows consistent behavior.

Another rich, famous douchebag doing what he wants, when he wants because he's used to getting his way. I'm sure this will end as all celebrity cases do, with absolutely nothing being done to Sheen.
Maybe he'll go to counseling. He can get Chris Brown to sponsor him.

It seems odd to me that she kept repeating "I have to file a report..." - as if she's trying to leave a paper trail for screwing Charlie over later...

Looks like she is taking advantage of the gender-biased sexist feminist misandrist laws to get a big pay out. The feminist peonage laws against men are in full force.

Hey you guys,
Have you read about the fembot that guy in Japan created? Real skin, real hair, "reacts" when touched "as a woman would." I think that's the answer....she doesn't complain - or call 911 - when you hold a sharp object to her throat and threaten to kill her.
Posted by: Gina | Dec 29, 2009 at 12:03 AM
How many times does she say . . . I have to file a report....
She seems to have had an agenda.
Posted by: anna marie | Dec 29, 2009 at 02:55 AM
the aspen papers published details from the actual police report.
4 inch blade held to throat while straddling her.
verbal threat that ex-police would be hired to kill her and "not leave a trace."
verbal taunt that "your mother's money means nothing" which indicates she may not be after nor need his dough.
only a fool wouldn't leave a paper trail.
fact check.

If Charlie Sheen gave his real name--Carlos Irwin Estevez--to the 5-0, and if she gave her name as Brooke Sheen--what the heck is up with that? I've read a dozen stories about this incident and I can't, for the life of me, figure out what's what. Can't these two star-crossed lovebirds pick a name to be arrested with?
You have to give Carlos credit for marrying an easy-to-discredit bag of nuts, however...

As a person that suffered at the hands of an abuser for several years and after reviewing all of the facts that I can find and listening to this recording I have only one thing to say... REALLY?! This appears to me to be a heap of drivel brought about by a poison relationship. It sounds like she is a nagging, insecure, spoiled brat with a bag of emotional problems and Sheen is a drinking blow-hard throwing hollow threats and beating his chest like a gorilla. I believe that there was a big argument (one of probably 5 that day) and that it came to a head with her showing her ass and he responding with threats. If this did not involve Sheen it wouldn't even be interesting.

She was tested as fairly intoxicated at the time. So why are the police testing her intoxication level. She sounds drunk. Charlie packs a switch blade?? Men who get in situations like this are going to have to prove her a liar. And a woman who is trying to get a guaranteed income in life, by having his kids, then trying to dump him. The poor kids.
Posted by: Mary | Dec 30, 2009 at 05:52 AM
brooks did not sound extremely drunk like she says later in news coverage. She sounded like she was scared for her life and in tears, several times, a moment of crying could be heard on the 911 tape. believe that there was enough evidence to show fear for her life, and according to news reports there were red marks around her neck. All the evidence seems to point to a threat on her life, and the markings on her neck might be consistant with a knife mark. But it isn't absolutely certain. I think because of lack of convincing, legal evidence, prosecution might be shaky for assault, and because the witness/victim is recanting her story, it could result in actions taken again her. But because of the 911 tape, i would this would be difficult to dismiss as a hoax. Its kinda in a grey area, where only bits and pieces of circumstancial evidence
support the claim of an domestic violence assault. If i were the prosecutor in this case, i would wait to sift thru further evidence for that 911 call, weigh the preponderance of evidence, and then make a decision. My oppinion would be it will be dismissed, with non prejudice, if it appeared before a judge. But Charly sheen, and Brooks both need to go in for family counseling, and deal with their issues
and not launder their family issues in public. Charly Sheen has an important tv program he is still involved with, and the ripples it goes unchecked over time, could end up, with losing a contract, and yes money. Comeon Charly Sheen, you two get along, get some help. Its not too late.

Sad to see another good actor flush away their fortune cause they can't act like a grown up. I guess the biggest problem would be to realize that the only good roles he can play anymore are the ones that reflect his own life.
Posted by: IAN | Jan 01, 2010 at 05:06 PM
ok, I first have to state its a known fact that Charlie had a 9/11 theory and I personally don't know whether or not if he did meet with President Obama to discuss his theory.... its another fact that Scheen will be pleading no contest AFTER PLEADING NOT GUILTY to his charges! Now stay with me if you will, I have spoke to the police on several occasions for emergencies and NEVER HAS A OPERATOR EVER TOLD ME TO HOLD ON.... NEVER EVER WOULD THIS HAPPEN... EVER and why does the OPERATOR keep talking over her. Now I'm not a conspiracy theorist but I also dont believe everything our government says...
