Carrie Underwood + Mike Fisher = Carrie Fisher?
Oh, my heavens, that’s just plain wrong. The concept, courtesy of E! Online, cracks us up -- but the official news is that as of this past weekend, the country singer and her Ottawa Senators hockey player beau are engaged.
How did it happen? The 6th Sens has the play-by-play.
He confirmed the news at the team’s morning skate Monday -- and it’s worth it to check out this Ottawa Sun video (it’s not the same as the NHL one above) with his confirmation and his teammates’ reactions.
It’s a total hoot, and know that when we say ‘a total hoot,’ we say it with great affection. Lots of Canadian accents, lots of missing teeth, and the guys interviewed seem to heartily approve of the future Mrs. ... wait, what?
Let’s just say they approve of their teammate’s choice, even if forward Chris Neil did note that it’s a sad day for the many women of Ottawa who pine for the dashing Mr. Fisher.
The two have been quietly dating since last year, Us magazine reports, but the Grammy-winning ‘American Idol’ winner went a little nutty over him in the liner notes of her most recent album, ‘Play On.’
