We admit, we weren’t there to see Britney Spears perform in Perth, Australia. But we just can’t help but think that reports of hundreds of fans -- or was it a hundred fans? Or maybe one barmaid? -- ‘storming’ out of the ‘Britney the mime’ concert in Australia are perhaps a tad exaggerated.

And GossipCop agrees.

Let’s see -- drama has been drummed up for days after a New South Wales trade minister went on a campaign to protect innocent Britney fans from the evil realities of large-scale dance productions headlined by a person who isn’t exactly Aretha Franklin in her prime.

So of course something had to happen.

Even if it didn’t?

Whatever -- buyer beware, whether it’s regarding tickets to a concert or reports about what happened outside a concert.

We see quotes from a couple of people. We see a ‘Perth Fans Walk Out on Britney’ video report with no actual video footage of fans walking out. And John Mayer’s Twitter observation cracks us up.

Still, we don’t consider that overwhelming evidence of any dramatic lip-sync-sparked stampede, even with Sky TV throwing the terrifying ‘lack of big screens’ factor into the mix.
