Tom Hanks' mental iPod might not always be shuffling the greatest pop hits of 2009, but when the actor-director-producer picks a winner, he works it, as seen on the video above from MTV.

Backstage at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 25th anniversary concert Thursday, Hanks proclaimed his love for Beyoncé's "Single Ladies." And then, well -- then Tom Hanks sang.

Hanks swears the sermons of Kanye West had no influence on his song choice. Guess nobody slipped Tom a bottle of Hennessy at the party either.
