Nicolas Cage's dad, August Coppola, dead at 75
August Coppola -- father of Nicolas Cage and brother of filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola and actress Talia Shire-- died Tuesday in Los Angeles after a heart attack, Cage's publicist reports.
Among other things, Nicolas' dad was a professor of literature at Cal State Long Beach and later a cinema professor and dean of the School of Creative Arts at San Francisco State.
