Robot pours beer upon receiving Pownce text message
Congratulations, you've nearly made it to the end of another work week. Some may choose to celebrate such a feat with a choice adult beverage. But wait, you shouldn't have to pour that glass of beer yourself! This is the year 2008 we're living in. We should have robots to do these types of menial tasks for us, right? Thanks to Matt Reed, we do now.
The Inebriator is a handmade "lego bot" that pours a preloaded bottle when summoned via Pownce message, according to Reed's YouTube description. (If you don't know about Pownce, it's like Twitter, but with no message length requirements and the ability to post media.) The device is Wi-Fi enabled and scans an RSS feed for the micro-blogging service for messages containing the word "pour," Reed wrote.
The video (above) shows Reed demonstrating the device for his family and their dog. My favorite part of the clip is the maniacal clapping that breaks out shortly after the mechanical arm does its task (smack, smack, smack).
It might not be the most practical way to prepare a beer glass -- he might have saved a considerable amount of time by simply pouring it himself -- but darn is it entertaining!

All this needs is a way to stay chilled all day and a way to remove the cap before it pours. Then you can activate it if you are on the road a few minutes away from home. You'd have a cold one waiting for you when you get in through the door.
