Myth #11 – Fruit Beers Are “Girly Beers”

Get it straight: Hops only started being used in brewing about 1,000 to 1,200 years ago. Up until then, for at least five millennia, beer was flavoured with a wide variety of spices, herbs and, yes, fruits. In fact, archeological research has shown that King Tut drank fruit beer, and he was one dude you could hardly consider “girly.”

Yeah you heard the man. King Tut was no lady. Get your facts straight. Fruit beers are for Kings and girls of legal drinking age. [ 15 most popular beer myths ]

Tim Nolan loves his balls

Hi, I'm Tim Nolan and I have never, nor will I ever, touch a woman. This guy is living proof that even though the definition of insanity is repeating a task over and over again expecting and a different result, that same neurotic devotion can pay off. Excuse me while I go wash my hands fifteen times.

Joshuadamon's Halotography flickr set is easily the best game fan photo art I have ever seen. I want them framed and over my tv. Absolutely brilliant. [ Halotography ]

Jedi Gym Trailer

Master Flynn runs a gym where members embody Star Wars characters to harness the Force and improve their lives. Little does everyone know how real the Force is. Coming to a film festival near you.

I heart the chubby Lando.

Starcade Complete Series: The Video-Game Game Show

Starcade

Starcade! G4tv used to even show reruns of Starcade back when they first started. If only I could have been on this show. Seriously, those kids sucked at Time Pilot. At that time video games were getting so big that TV executives were scrambling to get anything video game related on TV. Hey we know! A game show! Everyone loves game shows! I highly recommend watching episodes  #59, #127 and #62. It's hard not loving it when a 14 year old says his favourite activities are tennis and the stock market. COME ON.... Gold. Photoshop Goodness: Movies Through The Eyes of Kids

Kagemusha

The Something Awful Forum Goons took a big pile of movies and edited them to show how they would appear when viewed through the eyes of the typical elementary school kid. I'm a huge fan of the blade runner one. [ Movies Through The Eyes of Kids ]

Stick Figures in Peril

Stick Figures in Peril is a Flickr photo pool of real (and really hilarious) warning signs showing stick figures in often perilous situations such as the sign above taken at the Georgian Aquarium by Flickr photographer TX Jayhawk. It appears this poor stick figured man ventured into wrong fish tank. That's no ordinary goldfish... [Stick Figures In Peril ]

Christie St. Martin
Christie St. Martin was born in Bermuda and educated at two Canadian universities that would prefer not to be mentioned here until she supplies them with healthy building endowments. An uber-geek and proud of it, she established herself as an Internet presence with All Things Christie, a blog that managed, with its quirky and unabashedly self-indulgent links to and commentary on whatever struck her fancy or her ire, to attract small legions of readers, fans and would-be stalkers. Her interests were as they are: myriad and eclectic, though certainly given to a particular fondness for the tech-y, the game-y and the kitschy. She is her own organizing principle, a kind of mad surfer on the crests of cultural lunacy, alternately acerbic, ecstatic and unintentionally insightful. She has since blogged for VH1's "Best Week Ever" and Exhausticated.com, providing her usual melange of cheek, snark and occasional observation. Christie also contributes to LAT's Hero Complex blog.
