LA Times Switches to All-Wiki Format in 11th-Hour Battle for Life

In a desperate attempt to stop the involuntary leakage of its readership, the slightly less-old gray lady has tried the Depends of new media, embracing a technology that almost spelled its d-e-a-t-h in bright blue hyperlinked Arial.

The Los Angeles Times has consolidated with the Chicago Tribune and the New Stanton Occasional Telegraph to form the Los Wikiless Timespedia, a wiki-based newspaper entirely created by its readers. (Mike L. sucks, sez NikiSosa84.)

It must be true, as I read about it on the intarweb. With the Los Wikiless Timespedia issue, Bunk Magazine celebrates its 10th year of publication, which is hilarious from the front page to the contributors credit. You are sure to laugh till you spit out your morning coffee (or uhhh morning Pepsi in my case. I was too lazy to go out for coffee. Don't you judge me).

When reached at his new office in the Pico and La Brea Starbucks, former Editor Ed LeBlanc said, "Perhaps you should look up the meaning of the word 'Pandering.' You might find a picture of the L.A. Times' owners."

However, when we consulted the Wikipedia entry on pandering, we found only pictures of panda bears and William Shatner.

Right there. That's where they got me. I'm such a sucker for panda bears and Shatner. Yes, I am that easy to please. I am drinking Pepsi for breakfast aren't I? Annnnnnnyway, hopefully their content will continue to amuse me, so I will have something to check back on in the near future. Sometimes the Internet fails but today it wins, people. Today it wins.

Christie St. Martin
Christie St. Martin was born in Bermuda and educated at two Canadian universities that would prefer not to be mentioned here until she supplies them with healthy building endowments. An uber-geek and proud of it, she established herself as an Internet presence with All Things Christie, a blog that managed, with its quirky and unabashedly self-indulgent links to and commentary on whatever struck her fancy or her ire, to attract small legions of readers, fans and would-be stalkers. Her interests were as they are: myriad and eclectic, though certainly given to a particular fondness for the tech-y, the game-y and the kitschy. She is her own organizing principle, a kind of mad surfer on the crests of cultural lunacy, alternately acerbic, ecstatic and unintentionally insightful. She has since blogged for VH1's "Best Week Ever" and Exhausticated.com, providing her usual melange of cheek, snark and occasional observation. Christie also contributes to LAT's Hero Complex blog.
