Lulu lives in Zooey Deschanel
Call me crazy, but doesn't actress Zooey Deschanel, the indie queen-turned-"Yes Man" (2008) star, as well as my little crush of the moment, remind you of another free-spirited beauty, 1920's Jazz Age flapper Louise Brooks, particularly as Lulu in "Pandora's Box" (1929)? With their mesmerizing wide eyes, cute bob-cuts and projection of complete child-like innocence belied by their sometimes raunchy behavior, I find both to be completely hypnotic.
So, Zooey, from a guy who studies film history to someone who looks like one of its brightest stars, listen up: Louise Brooks led a fascinating life on and off screen. You look like her and are a tremendous talent. If you find -- or, if need be, commission -- a good script about her life and star in it, you will receive the Oscar nomination -- and maybe the Oscar itself -- that she never got. Mark my words... in your acceptance speeches!

This is a failed attempt to get p-ssy. I love your blogs but this was irrelevant.

Hahaha! Mark, though untrue, that is easily the funniest comment that has ever been posted on this site! Thanks for taking the time to read and write in--and sorry I had to blur out a letter in one of your word, but rules are rules.

Mark,
You have it backwards. This is not an attempt to get laid. This is a payoff after laying him. Scott doesn't "attempt" to get laid. He goes to cool parties where hot women throw themselves at him. Zooey just must have made an impression. And it's pretty clear why!

Ahahaha, these comments just get funnier... I don't know which cousin of mine this is, or if it really is one at all, but I appreciate his or her confidence in my ability to do alright for myself without writing flattering blog posts.

Zoey is pretty - and she may be able to pull it off. Will you produce ? Or direct ?
I am curious - why did your image of Brooks come from GarboForever.com ? Didn't some one once say "There is no Garbo, there is no Dietrich, there is only Louise Brooks."

There is a script floating around about Clara Bow called THE IT GIRL. Just change the names from Clara Bow to Louise Brooks!

Supposedly Shirley MacLaine was trying to get a biopic of Brooks produced.

I love Zooey Deschanel, but I must disagree with you. They do not look similar, but perhaps there is a level of intelligence and spirit that is shared.
But Louise Brooks? Such an uncommon beauty and wit. Yes, her life was interesting. Yet how would you fill the long interlude between the triumphant Pabst years and her reemergence as a brilliant, gin-pickled writer?
