Keys holds at No. 1

Alicia Keys holds down the top spot on the U.S. album sales chart, securing the position with one of the lowest sales totals for a No. 1 album since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking data in 1991.

Her “As I Am” sold 61,000 copies in a slow release week. Only the soundtrack to “Dreamgirls” has sold less in the pole position, posting sales of 60,000 copies early last year.

There are, however, some newcomers to this week's chart. Neo-soul artist Raheem DeVaughn enters at No. 5 after selling 45,000 copies. It's the singer's second album and significantly tops the No. 46 debut of his 2005 collection, “The Love Experience.”

Close behind is R&B star John Legend with his “Show Me Live.” The album is available only at Target, and managed to sell 33,000 copies in its first week on the chart.

While only one album in the Top 10 actually posts a sales increase, the indie-rock-focused soundtrack to “Juno” does move up one position to No. 2. The collection sold 58,000 copies this week, a 15% dip from last week. It's now sold more than 200,000 copies, and should receive a boost on next week's tally after the film scored four Oscar nominations this week.

Further down, vocalist Anne Murray enters at No. 42 with her “Duets: Friends & Legends” (13,000 copies), indie rockers the Magnetic Fields land at No. 77 with “Distortion” (8,000 copies) and Ringo Starr enters at No. 94 with his “Liverpool 8” (7,000 copies).

NOTE: An earlier post noted that no album in the top-10 had posted a sales increase. Disney's "Hannah Montana" set actually had a 7% sales jump over the previous week, up 15-10 this week.
